Gurugram (Haryana) [India]: After a leopard strayed into Narsinghpur village in Gurugram on Wednesday morning, Wildlife Conservation NGO head Anil Gandas informed that no casualties have been reported.
Gandas said that after receiving the information about the leopard that entered a house in Narsinghpur, they gave it two tranquillizer shots.
“We got a call around 4 am that a leopard has entered a house in Narsinghpur. We gave him two tranquilizer shots but it didn’t work, so we caught him in a cage instead. There are around 100 leopards in the Aravallis. No casualties have been reported,” the NGO head said.
The leopard hid in the hall of a house in the village.
The growing rate of tigers and leopards and their entry towards residential settlements are becoming a cause of concern.
Human-animal conflict can result in significant economic losses for people, especially farmers and livestock herders. Wild animals can destroy crops, damage infrastructure, and kill livestock, leading to financial hardship.
