Opposition reacts vigorously to the Budget 2022

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tables the Union Budget 2022 today, making major announcements on cryptocurrency and high GST collections.

The Finance Minister informed that 40,000 crores are being allocated under PM Awas Yojna, along with 60,000 crores for 3.8 crore households in 2022-23.

With this, she also announced important details regarding several government schemes for mental health, women empowerment and digital development.

However, the opposition seems to feel otherwise, refuting all the claims made by the central government, the opposition attacked the government’s budget alleging it to be ‘anti-poor and anti-middle class.’

TMC leader Mamta Banerjee termed this year’s budget as “Pegasus Spin Budget.”

Similarly, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury termed it as the budget of the “rich.”

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the budget holds nothing for a salaried common citizen of the country.
