On Friday, the President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi denied Z security provided by the centre to him. After Owaisi’s convoy was under attack by two men, while he was returning from Meerut, ahead of the UP elections.
Denying the Z security AIMIM President said, “I appeal to you to stop this hatred. I don’t want Z category security. I want to be an A-category citizen, at par with you all. Why was UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) not invoked against those who fired at me? I want to live, to speak. My life will be safe when the poor are safe. I will not get scared of those who shot at my car.”
Two youngsters named- Sachin Sharma and Shubham fired bullets from an unregistered pistol on Owaisi’s Convoy on Thursday near Chajarsi toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district. Citing the reason that they were hurt by Owaisi’s “anti-Hindu statements.”
According to their Facebook account, Sharma is a worker of the BJP and had also posted pictures with BJP leaders such as Lok Sabha members from Gautam Buddh Nagar, Mahesh Sharma and U.P. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma.
However, both Lok Shabha MP and U.P Deputy CM have denied the statement that they are associated with BJP as they are not ‘member’s of the party.’ He also informed that an FIR has been registered against the two without men.
Meanwhile, addressing the speech in Lok Sabha, ‘Owaisi asked BJP who is radicalising the youth?’ During his speech, the Hyderabad MP raised questions on why no actions were taken against those who spoke ill against him during ‘Dharam Sansad’ in Haridwar.
