Pax Jolie-Pitt, the 20-year-old son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is on the mend after a severe e-bike accident in Los Angeles. According to an exclusive report from PEOPLE, Pax was recently released from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following the incident.
A source close to the family revealed, “Pax has been released from the ICU. He suffered complex trauma, and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy.” The source added that both Pax and his mother are profoundly grateful for the swift response of first responders and the exceptional medical care he received.
The accident occurred on July 29 in a busy area on Los Feliz Boulevard around 5 p.m. local time. TMZ reported that Pax was not wearing a helmet while riding his e-bike, which contributed to his injuries. He sustained a head injury and experienced significant hip pain. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a young man in his early 20s was involved in an accident at 5:12 p.m. on the same day and that a severe traffic collision report was completed.
Angelina Jolie, 49, has been a constant presence by her son’s side throughout his recovery. The source mentioned, “His siblings have also been visiting and helping out. They are all very close.” The support from his family, including his siblings Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, has been crucial during this challenging time.
Pax’s release from the ICU marks the beginning of a lengthy recovery process that will involve physical therapy and continued medical care. The family remains united and supportive, ensuring Pax receives the best care and emotional support as he heals.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures, such as wearing helmets, especially in high-traffic areas. Pax’s road to recovery is expected to be long, but with his family’s unwavering support, he is poised to overcome these challenges.
