November 18, 2024: Priyanka Chopra, known for her stunning performances both in Bollywood and Hollywood, took a trip down memory lane by sharing a nostalgic photo dump from the sets of her 2014 film Gunday. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action-drama also starred Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles.
Priyanka’s Instagram Throwback
On Sunday, Priyanka shared a series of pictures on Instagram, reminiscing about her time on the sets of Gunday back in 2013. The photo dump featured behind-the-scenes moments, including Priyanka’s glamorous looks from the film’s song sequences and a memorable still from the popular track “Tune Maari Entriyaan,” where she’s seen alongside Ranveer and Arjun. A fun snapshot of Ranveer peeping through a curtain and a crew celebration photo also made their way into the post.
Captioning the photos, Priyanka wrote, “I was going through my phone, and these pictures popped up in my memories. Anyone remember this? One of the most fun jobs ever! Incredible locations, the most fun cast and crew, and the lovely @aliabbaszafar who brought us together. Good memories are made by good people. Circa 2013.” She tagged Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and the production house, Yash Raj Films, while adding “Tune Maari Entriyaan” as the background music for her post.
Ali Abbas Zafar’s Heartfelt Comment
Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of Gunday, couldn’t hold back his emotions and commented on Priyanka’s post, saying, “@priyankachopra yes, lovely memories are made with lovely people 😊. Please come back. Indian films are missing you ☀️.” His sentiment resonated with fans, many of whom echoed his plea for Priyanka to return to Bollywood. Comments like “We miss you here @priyankachopra” and “Please come back to Indian films” filled the post’s comment section.
Priyanka’s Bollywood Hiatus
Although Priyanka was set to collaborate with Ali Abbas Zafar again for the 2019 film Bharat opposite Salman Khan, she backed out due to her wedding preparations with Nick Jonas. Katrina Kaif later replaced her in the film. Priyanka’s last Indian project was The Sky Is Pink in 2019, directed by Shonali Bose.
Since then, Priyanka has focused on international projects. She recently appeared in the Amazon Prime series Citadel and has upcoming Hollywood films Heads of State and The Bluff. However, her fans and collaborators continue to express their longing for her return to Indian cinema, where she has left an indelible mark.
