Puneri Paltan demolish UP Yoddhas for sixth successive win: PKL

In front of their home crowd, Puneri Paltan won their sixth straight game, defeating UP Yoddhas 40–31 in Wednesday’s final home Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 10 match at Noida Indoor Stadium. According to a press release from PKL, captain Aslam Inamdar scored 11 points to keep his team atop the standings, while Mohammadreza Chiyaneh scored seven points thanks to his outstanding defensive acumen.

In an intense, high-scoring first half, the Paltans got off to a quicker start, ensuring that U.P. Yoddhas record-breaking raider Pardeep Narwal did not register any points during the first ten minutes of play in addition to scoring quick raid points. The high-risk, high-energy play was initiated by Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and Aslam Inamdar, and it was successful. After inflicting the first ‘ALL OUT’ in the first five minutes, The Paltan took a 10–4 lead.

The defeat roused the UP Yoddhas from their slumber and they managed to re-enter the game, even though Narwal was unable to record any points. It turned out to be exactly the boost Narwal needed, as he scored his first two points of the match in the final five minutes of the half, then used an incredible display of strength to force a ‘ALL OUT’ on the Paltan and bring the score down to 20-18. The Paltan maintained their lead and their game plan throughout the second half, refusing to let that setback force them to alter their tactics. During a back-and-forth exchange, however, the UP Yoddhas kept them alert and, despite a decline in players, managed to stay within two points.

With five minutes remaining, a “SUPER TACKLE” made the game exciting, but the Paltan ended the match almost instantly. With just two minutes remaining, they forced another ALL OUT to take a seven-point lead. Akash Shinde then put the icing on the cake, scoring a “SUPER RAID” to win the game 40–31. Puneri Paltan leads the standings with 41 points after eight victories, one defeat, and a tie. UP Yoddhas, with three victories, seven defeats, and one draw, is ranked tenth. They’ve scored 21 points in all.
