October 14, 2024: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known for his expertise in gangster dramas, is stunned by the bizarre series of events surrounding the Lawrence Bishnoi-Salman Khan controversy in the aftermath of NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder. Varma, who has directed iconic gangster films such as Satya and Sarkar, expressed disbelief over the real-life plot unfolding in the media.

Summarizing the events on his social media account, Varma wrote, “A lawyer-turned-gangster wants to take revenge for a deer’s death by killing a superstar, and as a warning, orders some of his gang of 700, recruited through Facebook, to first kill a big politician who is a close friend of the star. The police can’t catch him because he’s protected by the government while in jail, and his spokesperson speaks from abroad.”

Varma further commented, “If a Bollywood writer came up with a story like this, they would be thrashed for writing the most unbelievable and ridiculous script ever.”

Many netizens appreciated Varma’s boldness in addressing the situation, with one user commenting, “Glad you spoke about this and had the courage, because silence only sets a dangerous precedent. I always sensed that someone powerful is protecting this gang.”

The Salman Khan Connection to Baba Siddique’s Murder

For those unfamiliar, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the assassination of politician Baba Siddique, who was shot dead by three men on October 12 in Mumbai. The murder has been linked to Siddique’s long-standing friendship with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

The rift between Bishnoi and Khan dates back to the early 2000s when Khan was convicted in the blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community, which considers blackbucks sacred, has since targeted the actor, issuing death threats. Siddique’s murder came just months after a security scare at Khan’s residence, where two bike-borne men opened fire. The assailants were later arrested, and Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the attack.

Following Siddique’s death, Salman Khan was seen visibly shaken, shedding tears at the late politician’s residence. The two had been close family friends for decades, making the tragedy deeply personal for the actor. Since the threats against him have resurfaced, Khan has increased his security measures.
