The FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 are set to happen from January 13–19, 2024, at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. Jharkhand is ready to hold the event.
According to a press release from Hockey India, this prestigious game is one of three Olympics Qualifiers taking place around the world. The other two are in Muscat, Oman (for men) and Valencia, Spain (for women and men). The event in question was supposed to take place in China at first, but Hockey India asked the FIH to move it to India after China’s women’s team straight qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In a historic event marked by unity and excitement, Hockey India signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to host the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 in Jharkhand. A lot of important people were there, like players from the Indian women’s hockey team, Secretary Sports Jharkhand, IAS, Manoj Kumar, and Director Sports, Jharkhand, IAS, Sushant Gaurav. There was also Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh and Hockey India Treasurer Sekar J Manoharan. All the people involved in the MoU’s official signing showed their commitment and shared vision. They were committed to pushing and supporting the growth of hockey in India and showing off the country’s hockey skills on the world stage. Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey was very excited about this important event and said, “The FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi stand as a testament to India’s commitment to the sport and our unwavering pursuit of excellence.” We are extremely thankful for the help the Jharkhand Government has given us. We all want to make this a memorable and successful event that promotes the spirit of hockey and brings people from all over the world together.
