October 10, 2024: Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed its hit series Reacher for a fourth season, even before the release of the highly anticipated third season, which is set to premiere in 2025.
This early renewal comes just a week after Prime Video announced a spinoff series centered on Maria Sten’s character, Frances Neagley, indicating the platform’s strong confidence in the franchise.
Reacher has become a significant success for Prime Video, with Season 2 emerging as the most-watched Amazon release of 2023. After its debut on December 15, the second season’s viewership surged by 50% compared to the entire audience for Season 1 within just three days. Vernon Sanders, head of television for Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement over the series’ global impact, emphasizing that Reacher has far exceeded expectations.
Season 3 will adapt Persuader, the seventh novel in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. In this season, Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson) will go undercover to rescue an informant from a dangerous adversary from his past.
Returning cast members include Maria Sten, Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, and Brian Tee, among others. Lee Child, the original author, will continue as an executive producer, alongside series creator Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, and the team from Skydance Television and CBS Studios.
The early renewal and upcoming spinoff series reflect Prime Video’s commitment to expanding the Reacher universe, capitalizing on its growing fanbase and critical success.
