Rohit Sharma Praises Hardik Pandya’s Heroics in T20 WC Final

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma commended all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his crucial performance in the final over of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa.

The Men in Blue secured their second T20 World Cup title with a thrilling seven-run victory in Barbados on Saturday. Following the win, Rohit announced his retirement from T20I cricket.

Expressing his emotions after the triumph, Rohit dedicated the victory to the entire nation and the fans who have been waiting for this moment for 11 years. “This trophy is for the entire nation. We want to dedicate it to our fans and all the players who have represented the country,” he said during the event at Wankhede Stadium.

Rohit also thanked the Wankhede crowd for their unwavering support, saying, “Mumbai never disappoints. We got a solid reception. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank the fans. I am very, very happy and relieved.”

He concluded by praising Pandya’s exceptional performance in the final over. “Hardik bowled the final over for us. Hats off to him for handling the pressure and delivering when it mattered the most,” the 37-year-old added.

The victory and Rohit’s heartfelt words were a fitting end to his illustrious T20I career.
