November 26, 2024:The vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajeev Shukla, praised Team India for their remarkable 295-run victory over Australia in the Perth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Despite being bowled out for just 150 runs in their first innings, India mounted an impressive comeback, defeating Australia by a commanding margin.
Shukla highlighted the significance of the win, especially after India’s recent setback with a series whitewash against New Zealand at home. He lauded both the Indian bowlers and batsmen for their outstanding performances, which contributed to the team’s success in the Perth Test.
Shukla also confirmed that Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who had been away after the birth of his second child, would be leading the team in the upcoming second Test against Australia. “The victory in Perth is of great importance. Our bowlers and batsmen played very well… Rohit Sharma will be playing the second Test as the captain,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, having rejoined the team in Australia, began practising in the nets as he prepares to lead the Indian side in the upcoming match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
