Sam Pounds Halts Release Of Liam Payne’s First Posthumous Track ‘Do No Wrong’

October 30, 2024: Sam Pounds has made the heartfelt decision to postpone the release of his collaboration with the late Liam Payne, titled “Do No Wrong.” This song was intended to be the first posthumous release from the former One Direction star, who tragically passed away in Argentina.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on October 29, Sam expressed his commitment to honoring Liam’s family during this difficult time. He announced, “Today I’m deciding to hold ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave those liberties up to all family members,” emphasizing that all proceeds from the song would go to a charity chosen by Liam’s family.

While he acknowledged the song’s appeal, Sam stated, “Even though we all love the song, it’s not the time yet,” highlighting the importance of allowing the family to grieve in peace. He expressed hope that the track would eventually be released, noting, “We will all wait.”

Sam shared a snippet of the song on Instagram, featuring an audio message from Liam, where he expresses deep feelings about love and encourages Sam to further develop the melody. This collaborative spirit underscored their bond as artists.

Following Liam’s untimely death, Sam had initially announced the song, hoping it would provide comfort to Liam’s family, particularly his young son, Bear. He shared in a now-deleted post, “I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes,” extending his thoughts to Liam’s loved ones during their time of grief.

Liam’s passing was ruled as a result of multiple injuries from a fall, with a preliminary toxicology report revealing the presence of various substances, including pink cocaine. His sisters, Nicola Payne and Ruth Gibbons, have publicly mourned his loss, with Ruth reflecting on the struggles Liam faced in life. She poignantly shared, “I don’t feel this world was good enough or kind enough to you,” expressing her sorrow and longing to have saved him.
