The SpaDeX mission, launched on December 30 aboard a PSLV C60 rocket from Sriharikota, aims to demonstrate space docking capabilities—a critical technology for future space exploration missions. The satellites were placed into a 475-kilometer circular orbit, where they have since been preparing for this intricate maneuver.

This docking attempt was postponed twice to ensure the safety and functionality of the satellites. ISRO Chief Dr. S Somnath confirmed on Friday that the satellites are in good health, signaling that the mission is progressing smoothly toward its goal.

A successful docking will not only showcase India’s technological prowess but also open doors to advanced capabilities such as in-orbit refueling, servicing, and assembly of satellites, vital for future space missions.
