Shah Rukh Khan Teases Karan Johar At IIFA 2024 Pre-Event

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is making a grand return as a host for the IIFA 2024, joining Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal for what promises to be a star-studded event.

During the pre-event held in Mumbai, Shah Rukh and Karan indulged in some light-hearted banter, with SRK playfully teasing Karan about focusing more on hosting chat shows like Koffee With Karan and less on directing films. SRK jokingly remarked, “Karan told me he won’t be rehearsing for hosting… He said, ‘Bhai main Zoom pe kar lunga’… Chat show bhi host karta hai, film show bhi host karta hai… picture bhi toh bana mere bhai tu,” drawing laughter from the audience.

Karan Johar, agreeing with Shah Rukh’s quip, acknowledged that he indeed needs to spend more time making movies, especially after hearing similar comments from actor Siddhant Chaturvedi. Karan and SRK have shared a long-standing collaboration, having worked on iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, and My Name is Khan.

Reflecting on his return to IIFA after many years, SRK expressed his excitement about hosting the event, saying, “I’m so privileged to be hosting this show with Vicky and Karan and all the other amazing talent… It’s really nice to be here… IIFA has always thought of taking Indian cinema… now with the inclusion of Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, this is even more Indian than it has ever been before.”

Shah Rukh Khan also made a style statement at the event, debuting a sleek, short hairstyle and sporting a trendy outfit that included a black graphic t-shirt, black flared pants, white sneakers, and a black baseball cap.

The IIFA Awards 2024 will take place from September 27 to 29 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The awards night will feature dazzling performances by Bollywood stars like Rekha, Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Vicky Kaushal, and Janhvi Kapoor. The “IIFA Rocks” segment on September 29 will be hosted by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee, with performances by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Honey Singh.

This year’s IIFA promises a weekend filled with glitz, glamour, and the magic of Indian cinema.
