Shraddha Kapoor Hails Amitabh Bachchan as a “Cinematic Universe” after Watching ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been receiving immense love and praise for his portrayal of the immortal Ashwatthama in the recent release ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Actor Shraddha Kapoor has now joined the chorus of admirers.

After watching the film, Shraddha couldn’t resist lauding Big B in her unique style. She posted on social media, “Kya North, Kya South, Kya East, Kya West…Saara Cinema Ek Taraf, AMITABH BACHCHAN Ek Taraf,” and captioned it with, “@amitabhbachchan apne aap mein hi ek cinematic universe hain.”

Fans quickly chimed in the comment section. One user wrote, “He’s doing this at the age of 81, what an absolute legend.” Another commented, “Have you felt goosebumps while he said ‘Dronacharya ka Putra Ashwatthama’?”

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ had a bumper opening, grossing Rs 191.5 crore worldwide on its opening day in all languages, according to the makers. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic film draws inspiration from Hindu scriptures and is set in the year 2898 AD. The cast also includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, making it a mythology-inspired sci-fi extravaganza set in the future.

Before the film’s release on June 27, a grand event was organized in Mumbai where Big B shared his experience working on the film and praised director Nag Ashwin’s visionary concept. “Nagi came and explained the idea of Kalki 2898 AD. After he left, I thought, what the hell is Nagi drinking? To think of something like this is absolutely outrageous. Some of the visuals that you have seen just now are unbelievable. To have somebody conceive a project that is so futuristic is amazing,” he said. Big B further added, “No matter what Nag Ashwin thought of, he actually got all the material and effects to match his vision. It has been an amazing experience working for Kalki 2898 AD, which I will never forget.”

The film also features cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is set to return with ‘Stree 2’, alongside RajKummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the sequel will hit theatres on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. The original ‘Stree’, released in 2018, was a blockbuster hit. The phrase “Oo Stree Kal Aana” from the movie continues to be a popular meme, and its music, including tracks like ‘Milegi Milegi’ and ‘Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe’, garnered significant attention.
