“Some forces trying to divide nation in name of caste”: Himachal governor Shiv Pratap Shukla

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India]: Reacting to the caste survey, which was recently conducted in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Wednesday said that there are some forces in the country that are trying to “divide” the nation in the name of “caste”.

“There are some forces in the country that are trying to divide the nation in the name of caste. I have quoted Ram Manohar Lohia on the basis of ‘Daam Bandho’ and ‘Jaati Toro’. I want to give an example of how Sikandar has seen the caste system in the Indian Army.

Sikandar said that they (the Indian Army) are divided and will not be able to fight the war. They are already divided. I feel that inflation is coming down and GDP is going up.

The world is looking towards India and there are some people who are trying to break the country. This book is relevant today in India that’s why I have said that there is a need to come together”, Shukla said while addressing a gathering at a book launch event.

“This is ‘Amrit Kaal ‘of Independence, ‘Middle of Diamond India’ really reflects that it is relevant that the middle class and downtrodden need to be, this book would be very important and relevant in Amritkal,” said Shukla.

Speaking on the caste survey, the governor said, “National unity is important for the country and some forces are propagating to break the country. These kinds of definitions are being brought forward that the caste will help them. Raj Bhawan is a constitutional post. I can’t name the political party but I can express my views. All should come together to Unite India’.

The governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla launched the book titled ‘Middle of Diamond India’.

Authored by Indian thinker Shashank Mani, the book is on the National Renaissance through Participation.

It is worth mentioning that the data of the cate survey of Bihar’s caste survey was released on October 2.

With the parties of the INDIA bloc welcoming the report on caste in Bihar, the chorus for nationwide caste-based data has grown.

The findings from Bihar, one of the country’s politically significant states, have the potential to upend the country’s politics, with demands being made for a similar nationwide census.
On the other hand, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned the caste survey stating that the survey has been done to create “tension” in the state.

Bihar Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha earlier hit out at the Bihar government over the caste-based survey report and said that the survey has been done to create tension in the state.
