After Perth, Harbhajan Singh Hopes For India’s Victory In Adelaide

December 3, 2024: Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is optimistic about India’s chances in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, particularly ahead of the second Test against Australia, which will be played in a day-night format in Adelaide. After India’s impressive 295-run victory in the opening Test in Perth, Harbhajan expressed his hopes that the team can build on that momentum and take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Harbhajan acknowledged the significance of winning the first Test in Perth, calling it a “big thing” for India. He emphasized the difficulty of beating Australia in Australia but noted that India has shown immense strength in recent tours, having won both the previous series on Australian soil. Looking ahead, Harbhajan expressed hope for a hat-trick of series wins for the Indian team.

The second Test will be played in Adelaide, where India suffered a historic collapse in their last day-night Test against Australia in 2020, scoring their lowest-ever total of 36/9. Despite that painful memory, Harbhajan is confident that the Indian side, led by Rohit Sharma, can overcome the challenges of the pink-ball format and continue their strong run in the series.

In addition to his cricketing insights, Harbhajan also shared his excitement about the World Tennis Cricket League, a platform aimed at discovering young cricket talent in small towns and villages. He expressed his happiness about being able to give back to the sport and provide opportunities for young players to showcase their skills on a larger stage.

With India looking to extend their dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Harbhajan’s ongoing contributions to cricket development, the series and the growth of talent at the grassroots level continue to be key talking points in the world of Indian cricket.
