The Spaniard shifted gears in the third set, delivering a ruthless 6-0 “bagel” in just 22 minutes, winning 23 of the last 28 points. Musetti, clearly struggling physically, received medical treatment but couldn’t keep pace with Alcaraz’s fiery game.
The match concluded with a heartfelt moment as Alcaraz asked the Roland Garros crowd to applaud Musetti, acknowledging his fighting spirit and unfortunate exit.
After the match, Alcaraz said he’ll be watching the other blockbuster semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner closely. “Of course I’ll watch it. I’m not gonna miss it. It’s one of the best matches we can have in tennis right now. I’m a big tennis fan — it’ll be a great match,” said Alcaraz.
With this win, the defending champion is now just one match away from retaining his French Open crown. Tennis fans await what promises to be a thrilling finale at Roland Garros.
