Alyssa Healy Availability In Doubt For Remainder Of Women's Ashes Due To Foot Injury
Australia’s captain, Alyssa Healy, is facing uncertainty regarding her availability for the remainder of the Women’s Ashes 2025 due to a recurrence of “mid-foot soreness.” Healy had to miss the first T20I match against England at the Sydney Cricket Ground after experiencing the foot pain. This injury is related to the plantar fascia injury she suffered during the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, which is affecting the same area of her foot.
Cricket Australia confirmed that Healy is currently being managed with a boot and will not participate in the upcoming match. The medical team is consulting with specialists to develop a suitable management plan, and Healy’s availability for the rest of the series will be evaluated based on further developments.
Healy had previously faced injuries, including a foot injury during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in October 2024 and a knee injury during the Women’s Big Bash League. These issues led to her missing the ODI series against India and being limited to playing as a batter during Australia’s tour of New Zealand.
Despite Healy’s injury concerns, Australia has performed well in the Women’s Ashes, winning the ODI series 3-0. With three T20Is and a one-off Test left, Australia is in a strong position, holding a 6-0 lead over England in the series. To end their 11-year Ashes drought, England must win all three T20Is and the final Test match.
