New Delhi, September 5: The cricketing world came together to celebrate the career of one of India’s finest leg-spinners, Amit Mishra, as he announced his retirement from the game after a remarkable 25-year journey across formats.
Tributes poured in from legends, teammates, and fans. Sachin Tendulkar led the wishes, recalling Mishra’s dedication to Team India.
“Congratulations on a memorable career, @MishiAmit. I saw your commitment to the Indian team from close quarters. Best wishes for your second innings,” Tendulkar posted on X.
India’s current head coach and former opener Gautam Gambhir echoed similar sentiments:
“Congratulations on a wonderful career Mishi! Every time you picked the ball, there was magic waiting to happen!”
The BCCI too lauded his achievements, writing:
“Congratulations to Amit Mishra on a fine cricketing career. Best wishes for the road ahead.”
