Asia Cup 2025 Heads to UAE: Eight Teams Set for T20I Showdown This September

India to Kick Off Campaign Against UAE on September 10; High-Stakes Clash with Pakistan Scheduled for September 14

Dubai, UAE: Fans of cricket, write this down! The Men’s Asia Cup 2025, which everyone is looking forward to, will officially take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28. ESPNcricinfo says that Mohsin Naqvi, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), verified this fantastic news.

Eight teams will compete for continental dominance in the next event, which will follow the fast-paced T20I format. The UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong will join Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka as full members of the Asian Cricket Council.

Afghanistan and Hong Kong will face off on September 9 to start the competition. India, the defending champions, will start their campaign against the UAE on September 10. On September 14, the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan will take place. On September 19, India will play Oman in their last group stage game.

After the group round, the top two teams from each group will move on to the Super 4 stage. This will lead to even more exciting matches until the big final on September 28.

There are two groups of teams:

India, Pakistan, the UAE, and Oman make up Group A.

Group B: Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka

India is officially the host country for the event, however the BCCI and PCB have agreed that the other team will play at a neutral location for three years for any matches staged in either India or Pakistan. This plan was made before the Champions Trophy took place in Pakistan earlier this year. India played all of its games in Dubai during the tournament, including the one versus host Pakistan. They ended up winning the final.

This choice also clears up any questions that had been raised before. India notoriously turned down the chance to go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023. As a result, Sri Lanka was picked as the neutral site for India’s games. In May of this year, social media was full with reports saying that India had decided not to play in either the Asia Cup or the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup because of tensions between India and Pakistan. According to these sources, the BCCI told the ACC that it will not be participating in either event. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, on the other hand, flatly disputed these charges, calling them “speculative and imaginary” and saying that the BCCI had not had any conversations or taken any steps over the ACC incidents.

The Men’s Asia Cup 2025 is going to be an exciting competition that shows off the best of Asian T20I cricket. The site is set and the schedule is coming together.
