Asia Cup 2025: India Vs Pakistan Match Tickets Remain Unsold As Organizers Slash Prices

The highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup clash is facing an unusual hurdle, with nearly half the tickets yet to be sold. The lukewarm response is attributed to a combination of high ticket prices and recent geopolitical tensions.

September 12, 2025: The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan in Dubai is facing an unprecedented problem, with a large number of tickets remaining unsold just days before the high-voltage game. This has led organizers to apparently lower costs to accommodate the vacant seats, which is a big change from how this famous rivalry has always been.

There are still a lot of seats left at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, according to several news sources. Some premium tickets cost as much as ₹4 lakh. According to reports, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has lowered the price of regular tickets from 475 dirhams to 350 dirhams.

But the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has strongly refuted the claims that sales are slow. The Times of India spoke to an ECB source who said that the indicators are “very encouraging,” pointing to the fact that 3,000 tickets that went on sale online on Wednesday sold out in minutes.

This slow response is very different from the last India-Pakistan match at the same place during the Champions Trophy, when tickets sold out in only four minutes. Experts in the field and former players have come up with a number of ideas about why the demand isn’t very high. The high cost of tickets is one of the key reasons given, as it has rendered the match impossible for most fans to attend. Also, the fact that popular players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not playing in the T20 format anymore is thought to have affected the number of people that came.

The political situation has also been very important. Some people, including former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, have called for a boycott of the event because it is happening mere months after a terrorist attack in India. The BCCI has said that it is following government policy, which says that the team can play against Pakistan in international events but not in bilateral series. Even though there was controversy off the field, both team captains, Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha, have said they are looking forward to the Sunday battle and promised a very competitive play
