Asia Cup 2025: India’s Squad to Assemble in Dubai Directly, Not Mumbai

In a significant change to their travel routine, the 15-member Indian cricket squad will fly directly to Dubai from their respective cities to prepare for the Asia Cup. The decision was made to simplify logistics and ensure player convenience.

August 28, 2025: The 15-member Indian cricket team, led by skipper Suryakumar Yadav, will not meet in Mumbai before leaving for the Asia Cup. This is a strategic choice to make logistics easier and make things easier for the players. Instead, participants have been told to fly directly to Dubai from their own towns. All members are anticipated to arrive by the evening of September 4.

The team will hold its first session on September 5 at the ICC Academy in Dubai. This is a new technique for them to get ready for the contest. BCCI official who didn’t want to be named and said that the rules had altered.

The official said, “By the evening of September 4, all the players will be in Dubai. The first nets session will be at the ICC Academy on September 5.” ” The players will be able to fly to Dubai from their home locations because it is so easy to get there. The flight to Dubai is shorter than most other flights to other countries, no matter what.

The decision solves a long-standing logistical problem: players from different sections of the country had to go to Mumbai first before going on international trips with the team.

The Indian team is expected to open off their Asia Cup campaign on September 10 against the UAE. The highly awaited encounter against Pakistan, their biggest adversary, will take place on September 14 in Dubai. After that, they will play Oman on September 19 before the Super Four stage begins.

Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are now playing in the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals, and Kuldeep Yadav is also playing in the home league. The team’s standbys, including Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar, will not be going with the main squad.
