Asia Cup 2025: Suryakumar Yadav Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ For Comment On Pahalgam Attack

Suryakumar Yadav Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ to PCB Complaint Over Pahalgam Attack and Armed Forces Dedication.

September 26, 2025: The already intense rivalry between India and Pakistan has spilled over into the Asia Cup 2025, with both cricket boards raising complaints with the International Cricket Council (ICC) about how players acted and what they said.

The most recent news is about Suryakumar Yadav (SKY), the captain of the Indian T20I team. He went before an ICC hearing panel after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) complained about what he said after the group stage match.

SKY Gives Win to the Military; PCB Calls It “Political”

Suryakumar Yadav dedicated India’s win against Pakistan to the people who died in a recent terrorist attack during the post-match ceremony. He said:

“Perfect time to take a break. We stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.” We stand with you. Want to give the win to all of our courageous armed forces.

The PCB then said that these comments were “political” and against the ICC’s rules of conduct.

But a source from the BCCI told the Indian Express that the Indian captain is still claiming he is innocent. “Surya told the ICC hearing panel that he is not guilty and has not said anything that goes against the rules.” The source said, “Tomorrow the verdict will come.”

BCCI Files Counter-Complaint Against Two Pakistanis
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also made its own complaints about Pakistani players’ behavior on the field during the second match on September 21. This is not a one-sided issue.

The BCCI’s complaint, which has been sent to match referee Andy Pycroft, is aimed at opener Sahibzada Farhan and quick bowler Haris Rauf.

Sahibzada Farhan gets in trouble after doing a “gun celebration” with his bat after reaching fifty runs in the Super Fours tournament. Farhan didn’t apologize when asked about his gesture. He said, “It was just a moment of the match…” I don’t care what other people think about it.

Haris Rauf is being accused of being rude on the boundary line, when he was observed making “6-0” and “jet downing” gestures at fans. During the game, Rauf also had heated verbal fights with India’s openers, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma.

The Pakistan players will have their hearing over their complaints today, Friday, September 26.

The rising tensions, both in person and through official channels, set the stage for the highly anticipated Asia Cup Final on Sunday, September 28, when India and Pakistan will play for the third time in the tournament.
