The Spanish heavyweights’ players, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski, were fined €5,000 each after failing to report promptly to a testing station following their UEFA Champions League fixture against Inter Milan.
August 9, 2025: UEFA has fined Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski €5,000 each for using drugs. After the club’s UEFA Champions League semifinal match with Inter Milan, both players were late to the testing station.
The players didn’t do what they were supposed to do after the game, which goes against UEFA’s rules against doping that are meant to keep the testing process fair. Barcelona was punished after they lost in a shocking way in the biggest event in Europe.

The Champions League broke the club’s heart, but they had a tremendous season in Spain under coach Hansi Flick, winning the La Liga title, the Spanish Super Cup, and the Copa Del Rey. On the other hand, the punishments show how strict the rules are for European football.
