July 29, 2025: Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. won the Brickyard 400 on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This was his third NASCAR Cup Series win and his first of 2025.

“I’m so tired!” “I thought about everything but driving a race car during that red flag,” Wallace said with excitement. “I’m so proud of this Chumba Casino Toyota team.” The rush of adrenaline is insane! Thank you to all the folks behind me… Welcome to victory lane, Becks (son)! It’s all about getting these people to victory lane after they’ve been through so much. These folks keep pushing me and believing in me. Man, I’m so proud. “Thank you!”

Ty Gibbs won the first In-Season Challenge and the $1 million prize with a 21st-place finish, beating Ty Dillon. Gibbs said he would give $10,000 to a charity of Dillon’s choice, which was quite nice of him.

The 160-lap race went into two overtimes because of a rain delay on lap 155 and a crash involving Christopher Bell, Zane Smith, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano, and Jesse Love on lap 162.

During the whole race, pit strategies were very important. Before the green flag stop on lap 121, Larson was in the lead. Wallace took the lead again after that round of stops ended on lap 143. Later, on lap 145, Larson passed Reddick and took second place.

Chase Briscoe won the first 50-lap stage, followed by Wallace and William Byron. Briscoe started in first place and stayed there until Ross Chastain’s caution on lap 17. Austin Cindric and Joey Logano stayed out for a short time to take the lead before pitting, which let Briscoe take the lead again.

Ryan Blaney won the second 50-lap stage, followed by Larson and Hamlin. Ryan Preece and Alex Bowman also did well early on, finishing first and second in stage two before their pit stops.

There were extra pit stops after a yellow on lap 90 when Erik Jones crashed when his wheel broke. Jones said, “There was no warning other than to slow down on the right or front.” I knew we were going to crash as soon as I pulled onto (turn) three… The Dollar Tree Toyota crew is sad.

After stage two, Larson and Hamlin stayed out and restarted first and second for the last leg.

Ryan Preece (fourth), Brad Keselowski (fifth), Todd Gilliland, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Alex Bowman, and Carson Hocevar made up the last three spots in the top ten.
