Bumrah’s "Friendly Fire" Sparks Injury Scare For Ishan Kishan Ahead Of Namibia Clash
The Indian camp experienced a heart-in-mouth moment at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday evening when wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was struck by a searing yorker from pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
The incident occurred during India’s final high-intensity net session ahead of their T20 World Cup encounter against Namibia on Thursday, February 12.
Kishan, who has been in stellar form, was floored by the “toe-crusher” and required immediate medical attention from the team physios. While he eventually resumed batting for a few minutes, he appeared to be in significant discomfort and left the nets shortly after.
The injury to Kishan couldn’t have come at a worse time for India, as the team is already managing the fitness of fellow opener Abhishek Sharma.
In a major boost for the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah has been declared fit and available for the Namibia match.
