Pakistan’s Disappointing Exit from Champions Trophy 2025, Pak Team Rakes in Money
Updated: February 27, 2025: The Pakistan cricket team endured a humiliating exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, failing to register a single win in the tournament. With back-to-back losses against New Zealand and India, followed by a washout against Bangladesh, Mohammad Rizwan and his men finished at the bottom of Group A with just one point and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -1.087.

This shocking performance makes Pakistan the worst-performing defending champions in the tournament's history, surpassing Australia’s one-point finish in 2013.
Despite their poor show, Pakistan will still take home $265,000 (approximately INR 2.31 crore) in prize money.

The total prize pool for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was set at $6.9 million, reflecting a 53% increase from the 2017 edition.
Winners: $2.24 million (INR 20 crore)
Runners-up: $1.12 million
Losing semi-finalists: $560,000 each
5th & 6th place teams: $350,000 each
7th & 8th place teams: $140,000 each
Participation prize for all teams: $125,000
Pakistan, finishing at 7th or 8th position, will receive:
$140,000 + $125,000 = $265,000 (INR 2.31 crore)
