Champions Trophy: IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal Wishes India Luck Ahead Of Final Against New Zealand

March 8, 2025: As India prepares to take on New Zealand in the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Arun Dhumal has extended his heartfelt best wishes to the Indian cricket team. With India unbeaten so far in the tournament, Dhumal expressed his hopes that the Men in Blue will maintain their winning momentum and bring the prestigious trophy home.

Dhumal expressed optimism ahead of the final, saying, “I would like to convey my best wishes to team India for the finals. They are unbeaten in the tournament so far, and we hope that they can remain so in the final and bring the Champions Trophy home. It’s our third ICC tournament final in a row. We missed the 2023 ODI World Cup final and couldn’t win that, but I hope we will bring the cup this time.”

This final is especially important as it marks a potential redemption for India after their heartbreaking loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup final to Australia, where a dominant performance by Travis Head dashed India’s hopes of winning the prestigious title. However, Dhumal remains hopeful that this time, the outcome will be different, with India clinching the victory they deserve.

The final promises to be an exciting contest between India and New Zealand, a team India has faced in multiple high-stakes games in recent years, including the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal and the 2021 ICC World Test Championship final. The Black Caps, who won the 2000 Champions Trophy final, will be eager to repeat their success, while India will be looking for redemption and a chance to add another ICC title to their trophy cabinet.

India’s performance in the tournament has been strong, with key players such as Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and the spin-bowling duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav making crucial contributions. In their previous match against New Zealand, India defeated the Kiwis by 44 runs, after posting 249 runs and restricting New Zealand to 205. India’s bowlers, led by the “secret weapon” Varun Chakravarthy, have proven to be a key factor in their success.

The final match between the two teams is set to take place in Dubai, with the stakes higher than ever as both teams fight for the coveted ICC Champions Trophy title. With the support of fans and a balanced, talented squad, Dhumal remains hopeful that India will rise to the occasion and bring the trophy home once again.
