February 9, 2025: South Africa has named right-arm seamer Corbin Bosch as a replacement for Anrich Nortje in their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan and the UAE starting February 19. Nortje, who was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury, joins a list of recent setbacks for the fast bowler, who also missed the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India due to a stress fracture.

Bosch, who made his international debut in December 2024, has played one ODI and one Test match so far. He joins fellow fast bowler Kwena Maphaka as a travelling reserve, along with batter Tony de Zorzi. South Africa’s squad will travel to Pakistan this Sunday to join the ongoing tri-nation ODI series with Pakistan and New Zealand, ahead of the Champions Trophy.

The Proteas’ Champions Trophy campaign will begin with a match against Afghanistan on February 21 in Karachi, followed by a clash with Australia in Rawalpindi, and a final group stage fixture against England on March 1 in Karachi.
