October 30, 2024: Cricket Australia (CA) has extended Andrew McDonald’s contract as head coach of the national team until the end of 2027.

McDonald, who took over from Justin Langer in 2022, has had a remarkable tenure, leading Australia to their first ICC World Test Championship title in 2023 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in the same year.
With this extension, McDonald will have the opportunity to defend both trophies, guiding the team through the next World Test Championship cycle (2025-27) and the upcoming 50-over World Cup in 2027. Under his leadership, Australia is currently ranked as the No. 1 Test team in the world and No. 2 in both ODI and T20I formats.
