Australia Score 258/8 Against India in 2nd ODI; Deepti Bags Five Wickets

In the second ODI held in Mumbai on Saturday, Deepti Sharma’s five wicket haul enabled India to restrict Australia’s women at 258/8. The Wankhede Stadium match saw Australia win the toss and choose to bat first. Australia set up a tough total and kept the scoreboard moving thanks to India’s careless fielding, which saw them miss multiple catches.

Ellyse Perry (50 runs from 47 balls) and Phoebe Litchfield (63 runs from 98 balls), the Australian opener, were vital in helping the squad establish a solid base. Australia reached 258/8 thanks to unbeaten efforts from Kim Garth (11* runs from 10 balls) and Alana King (28* runs from 17 balls).

King hit pacer Pooja Vastrakar for two sixes in the last over of the inning.
In her 10-over stint, Deepti claimed five wickets while giving up 38 runs. Sneh Rana, Pooja, and Shreyanka Patil each took one wicket. Australia Women 258/8 vs India Women (Deepti Sharma 5-38, Phoebe Litchfield 63(98), Ellyse Perry 50(47), Alana King 28*(17).
