In a moment that stunned both the audience and players alike, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja mistakenly referred to the PSL as IPL during a post-match presentation on Tuesday night, leaving viewers and social media users both amused and outraged.

The incident occurred after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, when Ramiz was hosting the post-match ceremony. While announcing the ‘Catch of the Match’ award for Joshua Little, Ramiz inadvertently called it the “Catch of the IPL”, leaving stakeholders on stage visibly puzzled.
The clip, which has gone viral, shows Ramiz confidently calling up Joshua Little and announcing,
“And now for the Catch of the IPL—sorry, PSL…”
He immediately corrected himself, but the slip had already gone live and spread across social media.
A section of PSL fans have taken offence, demanding a public apology from the commentator, citing the “disrespect” shown to the PSL brand.
Despite the controversy, the game itself was a high-octane affair.
Multan won the match by 33 runs, strengthening their position in the tournament standings.
Yasir Khan, named Player of the Match, said:
“Had been waiting for my opportunity. I know my power, and I just backed my strengths. This is how I play my shots — straight and over midwicket. I’ve worked hard for this day.”
