February 17, 2025: Rishabh Pant Suffers Knee Blow in Nets Ahead of Champions Trophy Opener
Dubai: Just days before India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign kicks off, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant suffered a knee injury during a practice session in Dubai. Reports indicate that Pant was hit on his left knee after a powerful shot from Hardik Pandya in the nets.

This incident raised concerns, especially since it is the same knee that endured severe damage during his horrific car crash in December 2022. However, after initial pain and limping, Pant continued batting with a strapped knee, offering some relief to the team management.

Despite the painful blow, Pant hugged Hardik Pandya before heading to the dressing room for medical attention. He later returned to the nets, sharing a laugh with Axar Patel and continuing his session—suggesting the injury isn’t serious.
Pant’s participation in the Champions Trophy is crucial for Team India. He has been a proven match-winner, boasting a 100+ strike rate in both ODIs and T20Is.
