ICC Men’s Player Of The Month April 2025: Muzarabani, Mehidy Hasan, Sears Earn Nominations For Stellar Performances

May 05, 2025 : The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2025, recognizing three standout performers—Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani, Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and New Zealand’s Ben Sears—for their exceptional displays on the field.

Blessing Muzarabani has been on a red-hot run with the ball. The Zimbabwean pacer delivered a match-winning performance in the first Test against Bangladesh in Sylhet, grabbing 3/50 in the first innings and a stunning 6/72 in the second. His efforts secured Zimbabwe’s first Test win since March 2021. Muzarabani ended the two-match series as Zimbabwe’s top wicket-taker, bagging 10 wickets at an average of 20.50.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz responded emphatically in the second Test. The Bangladeshi all-rounder not only took 5/52 and 5/50 in the first Test but also struck a commanding century (104 off 162 balls) in Chattogram. He capped it off with another five-wicket haul (5/32), guiding Bangladesh to a resounding innings-and-106-run victory and leveling the series 1-1.

Ben Sears, meanwhile, starred for New Zealand in their home ODI series against Pakistan. The fiery right-arm pacer etched his name in history by becoming the first Kiwi to claim back-to-back five-wicket hauls in ODIs. His figures of 5/59 in Hamilton and 5/34 in the final game helped the Blackcaps complete a 3-0 whitewash. Sears was deservedly named Player of the Series, finishing with 10 wickets at a phenomenal average of 9.30.

The ICC will announce the winner of the Player of the Month title based on a combination of expert panel votes and global fan input.
