Lalchand Rajput Joins as League Advisor for T20 Mumbai League 2025, MCA Unveils Star Scout Team

June 1, 2025: Veteran coach and former India cricketer Lalchand Rajput has been appointed as the League Advisor for the much-anticipated T20 Mumbai League 2025, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced. Alongside this major appointment, MCA also revealed a dedicated scouting team to ramp up talent identification and player development ahead of the league’s return.

Season 3 of the T20 Mumbai League is set to unfold from June 4 to 12, across Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, marking its comeback after a six-year hiatus.

Currently serving as the head coach of the UAE national team, Rajput is best remembered for managing India during their historic 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. He has also held coaching roles with Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, and brings vast experience across domestic and international cricket.

Rajput will be supported by a team of experienced scouts including Sanjay Patil, Ghulam Parkar, Ravi Thakkar, and Musavir Khote—well-known names in Mumbai’s cricketing ecosystem.

MCA secretary Abhay Hadap welcomed the appointment, saying:
“Lalchand Rajput’s leadership will be instrumental in taking the league to new heights. His experience and vision will help nurture Mumbai’s next generation of cricketing talent.”

This year’s edition promises a thrilling mix of seasoned internationals and rising stars. Fans can expect to see the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, and Prithvi Shaw in action, alongside young guns such as Musheer Khan, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Atharva Ankolekar.
