Indian Team Focus On Intensive Fielding Drills Ahead Of T20I Against Bangladesh
As the Indian cricket team prepares for their first T20I against Bangladesh on October 6, 2024, in Gwalior, players were seen engaging in fielding drills under the guidance of fielding coach T. Dilip and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate.
A video posted by BCCI on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle showed the team working on fielding skills, focusing on rhythm, flow, and technique. Dilip emphasized the importance of footwork and rhythm, encouraging players to refine their technique before intensifying the practice.
In the drills, notable efforts came from Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy, while captain Suryakumar Yadav, alongside Abhishek Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi, made some impressive catches. Head coach Gautam Gambhir oversaw the session, ensuring the players were well-prepared for the match.
India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with returning players like Abhishek Sharma and wicketkeepers Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma. The team also features an all-round lineup including Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Dube, along with spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakaravarthy.
The Bangladesh team will be captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, as they aim to bounce back from their recent Test series defeat. Key players include all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed.
