April 14, 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to receive a significant boost in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as their pace sensation Mayank Yadav is likely to rejoin the squad after getting clearance from the Centre of Excellence (formerly known as the National Cricket Academy).
According to sources close to the development, Mayank’s fitness reports have come back positive, and he is expected to receive the official green signal by the evening of April 14. The 21-year-old speedster is expected to join the LSG camp on April 15.
“His reports are fine and he will be given green signal by this evening (April 14) officially. In all likelihood, Mayank will join the squad tomorrow (April 15). His availability for the matches for LSG will be decided by the coaches based on the practice sessions,” a source told.

A close family member currently in Bengaluru also confirmed the news, expressing joy over Mayank’s return. “We are happy that he will be in action again,” the source said.
LSG are slated to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by MS Dhoni, on April 14 in Lucknow. However, Mayank is unlikely to be available for that match. Instead, he is expected to make his return to competitive action in LSG’s next match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 19 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Mayank Yadav has been one of the brightest young talents in the IPL, making headlines for his raw pace and ability to trouble even seasoned batters. His comeback is expected to add firepower to LSG’s bowling unit as they continue their playoff push in the ongoing season.
