IPL 2025: Noor Ahmad Amazed By MS Dhoni’s ‘Out Of The World’ Stumping Of Suryakumar Yadav

March 24, 2025: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad was in awe of MS Dhoni’s brilliance behind the stumps during their thrilling IPL 2025 encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI), where CSK secured a four-wicket victory.

The Chepauk crowd erupted in joy after witnessing yet another moment of pure magic from Dhoni, whose quick reflexes left everyone stunned. The incident occurred in the 11th over of MI’s innings, when stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav attempted an inside-out drive off Noor’s wrist spin. Yadav failed to pick the ball properly and, as he ventured out of the crease, Dhoni, with his characteristic lightning speed, dislodged the bails to stump Suryakumar for 29 runs off 26 balls.

In the post-match presentation, Noor couldn’t stop praising Dhoni’s incredible skill. “The focus was to land the ball in the right area, and Surya’s wicket was special, but the stumping from MSD was out of the world. It feels great to have someone like Mahi bhai behind the stumps; it is a great support for me,” Noor said, still in awe of the wicketkeeper’s brilliance.

Noor’s spell was a game-changer for CSK. The wrist spinner’s variations kept MI’s batsmen guessing, with his unpredictable deliveries leading to crucial breakthroughs. His outstanding figures of 4/18 earned him the Player of the Match award, and he justified CSK’s investment of Rs 10 crore on him in last year’s mega auction.

“I’m happy to play here in the IPL and contribute to the team’s success,” Noor reflected on his performance. After taking Suryakumar’s wicket, Noor’s wrist spin continued to baffle MI’s batsmen. Robin Minz was caught at long-off, Tilak Varma fell prey to a googly, and Naman Dhir was completely beaten by a sharp delivery that hit the stumps after he failed to judge it.

Noor’s stellar bowling performance helped restrict MI to 155/9, a total that CSK successfully chased down. The chase was powered by stellar fifties from Rachin Ravindra (65*) and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (53), ensuring CSK’s four-wicket victory.

The combination of Noor’s spin wizardry and Dhoni’s unmatched stumping skills was the perfect recipe for CSK’s success in this thrilling IPL contest.
