IPL 2025: Parthiv Patel 'Not Surprised' By Sudharsan's Consistency
April 10, 2025: Parthiv Patel, the assistant coach of Gujarat Titans, has praised opener Sai Sudharsan for his exceptional work ethic and consistent performances in IPL 2025. Patel noted that Sudharsan’s dedication is so intense that there have been instances where he had to “drag him out of the nets,” highlighting the young player’s relentless commitment to improving his game.
Sudharsan’s disciplined approach has translated into impressive on-field achievements. In a recent match against Rajasthan Royals, he scored a pivotal 82 runs, contributing significantly to Gujarat’s formidable total of 217/6. This performance has propelled him to the position of the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer, with 273 runs in five matches, trailing only Nicholas Pooran.
Patel attributes Sudharsan’s success to his deep understanding of the game and his ability to back his strengths. This self-awareness and confidence have been key factors in his consistent high-level performances.
Beyond his role as a coach, Parthiv Patel has been instrumental in shaping Gujarat Titans’ strategic approach. In the lead-up to the IPL 2025 season, he emphasized the importance of bolstering the team’s spin department. The franchise acquired four left-arm spinners—R Sai Kishore, Manav Suthar, Nishant Sindhu, and Mahipal Lomror—to complement their star spinner, Rashid Khan. Patel expressed satisfaction with these acquisitions, stating, “Both of them were part of Gujarat Titans last year, so we’re happy that we brought them back.”
Patel’s insights and leadership have been pivotal in Gujarat Titans’ strategic planning, aiming to create a balanced and formidable squad for the ongoing season.
