IPL 2025: Shubman Gill Lauds Prasidh Krishna’s Match-Winning Performance In Gujarat Titans’ Win Over Mumbai Indians

The fast bowler’s brilliant four-over spell proved to be a game-changer, as he played a pivotal role in helping Gujarat secure the win.

Krishna delivered a spell of sheer brilliance, taking two crucial wickets while conceding only 18 runs at an outstanding economy rate of 4.5. His victims included key MI batters Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, whose dismissals tilted the balance in favor of Gujarat Titans. Krishna’s efforts earned him the Player of the Match award, a fitting recognition for his match-winning contribution.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Shubman Gill was all praise for Krishna’s performance, especially in a high-pressure situation. “I think he did more than pretty well. He did a pretty amazing job for us to be able to come in like that in a pressure situation and I think he changed the game for us in the way he bowled,” said Gill.

Gill continued, acknowledging the significance of Krishna’s spell: “He gave around 14 runs [18], out of which a couple of boundaries came in the last over. So, I don’t think in the first three overs he gave around six or seven runs. In a T20 game when the opposition is chasing 200, you know the match is almost done.”

Prasidh Krishna’s performance came when MI was in a strong position at 97/2, needing 100 runs off the final nine overs. His tight bowling in the middle overs helped stifle MI’s momentum and ensure the match stayed firmly in Gujarat’s control.
