April 27, 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Vaibhav Arora has expressed his gratitude towards team mentor DJ Bravo and bowling coach Bharat Arun for helping him enhance his skills in the death overs during the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Arora, who has emerged as a key figure for KKR in the death overs, credited the duo for the improvement in his bowling, especially in high-pressure situations. His recent performances have made him a go-to bowler for skipper Ajinkya Rahane in the final overs, and he has earned a reputation for keeping the opposition’s scoring rate in check. In the match against Punjab Kings, Arora was tasked with bowling the penultimate over and executed his role to perfection, conceding just nine runs and taking a crucial wicket with a slower-ball leg cutter.

“I am working with DJ sir and Bharat Arun sir on death bowling during the practice sessions, and I am getting the result for it,” Vaibhav said in a post-match interview.
Despite the team’s good bowling effort, Punjab Kings posted a challenging total of 201/5. However, the match was eventually washed out due to rain, leaving both teams with one point each.
Arora remains optimistic about the outcome and believes that even a single point could prove vital in their journey to defend the title. “Unfortunately, the match didn’t take place; it is better to take one point than nothing. There might be a scenario where we could qualify with one point. We will take it in a positive way,” he stated.
KKR, currently sitting in seventh place with seven points, are still in the race to qualify, but their inconsistent batting remains a concern. Arora acknowledged the batting struggles and assured fans that the team would focus on improving their performance with the bat in upcoming matches.
“We are bowling well, but we are lacking in batting. We will try to bowl well and improve our batting,” Arora added.
