IPL 2025:Mohammed Siraj’s Brilliant Spell Guides Gujarat Titans To Victory Over RCB, Says ‘My Mindset Is To Have Belief’

April 3, 2025: After leading Gujarat Titans to an impressive 8-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Mohammed Siraj shared his emotions and the mindset that guided him through his brilliant spell of bowling.

Siraj, who was playing against his former team, RCB, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, delivered an outstanding performance, taking three wickets and conceding just 19 runs in his 4-over spell. His economical bowling (economy rate of 4.8) helped stifle RCB’s chase, as he dismissed Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, and Liam Livingstone. Siraj’s performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Siraj admitted that there were emotional moments as he returned to the stadium where he had spent seven years of his IPL career with RCB. “I was a bit emotional. I was here for 7 years, changed jersey from red to blue and was emotional, but once I got the ball, I was fine,” he said.

The fast bowler, who is a self-proclaimed fan of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, even gave a nod to his football idol with a celebratory gesture after taking a wicket. Reflecting on his journey, Siraj emphasized how he had consistently worked on his fitness and corrected some mistakes during the break.

He also credited his new team and coaching staff, saying, “Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He (Nehra) tells me to go enjoy your bowling and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief, and then the pitch does not matter.”

Siraj’s performance was crucial in helping Gujarat Titans secure a dominant win and keep their momentum going in the tournament. His calm approach and disciplined bowling on a challenging pitch showcased his maturity as a bowler. As he continues to impress in the IPL, Siraj remains a key figure for the Titans in their quest for glory.
