March 25, 2025: Mumbai – Indian cricketer KL Rahul and his wife, Bollywood actor Athiya Shetty, have been blessed with a baby girl, the couple shared on Instagram on Monday evening. The joyful announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from across the cricket and film fraternities.
Rahul, who currently plays for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2025, missed Monday’s match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to be present for the birth of his child.
Bollywood personalities including Shanaya Kapoor and Krishna Shroff were among the many who congratulated the couple in the comments section of their post, which featured a soft-toned, heartwarming photo and the caption, “Our little princess is here.”
The couple had announced their pregnancy back in November 2024, keeping most details private but occasionally delighting fans with glimpses from their journey.
KL Rahul has had a busy and successful run recently. After a fierce IPL auction battle that saw KKR and RCB chasing him, Delhi Capitals secured his services for ₹14 crore, counting on him as an opener, captain, and wicketkeeper-batter.
He also played a crucial role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, where he batted in the middle order to provide balance to the lineup. Rahul’s composed 34 off 33* balls in the final against New Zealand helped India lift the trophy.
With 4,683 IPL runs to his name at an average of 45.46, including 4 centuries and 37 half-centuries, KL Rahul remains one of the most consistent performers in the tournament’s history. Though he has played for RCB, PBKS, and LSG, the IPL trophy still eludes him — a goal he hopes to achieve with DC.
