Mohammad Rizwan Reacts to Trolls on his Broken English-This is What he Said

Amid mounting criticism and trolling over his spoken English, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan says he regrets not completing his education—but refuses to be ashamed, insisting cricket is his true calling.

Lahore, April 12 – Pakistan ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has addressed the persistent trolling he faces over his English-speaking skills with a candid and heartfelt message, making it clear that his lack of fluency is not a source of shame.

Rizwan, currently leading Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after a rough tour of New Zealand, opened up in a press conference, saying he’s proud to speak with sincerity — regardless of the language.

“I don’t care about the trolling. I am proud of one thing — whatever I say, I say from my heart,” Rizwan said.

“I don’t know English. The only regret is that I didn’t get enough education, but I am not even one percent ashamed that I can’t speak English despite being the captain of the Pakistan cricket team.”

Rizwan has frequently gone viral on social media — not for his on-field performances, but for clips from dressing room speeches and net sessions where his English has been mocked. The trolling intensified after Pakistan’s early exit from the Champions Trophy, further placing his captaincy and leadership style under scrutiny.

However, Rizwan remains unfazed.

“The demand from me is cricket, not English,” he stated firmly. “Pakistan is not asking me to speak English. If that were the case, I would’ve left cricket to become a professor — but I don’t have the time for that.”

While he admits regret over not completing his education, Rizwan emphasized that his primary focus is cricket, the profession he has chosen and one that defines his service to the country.

The statement comes at a time when Pakistan cricket is navigating a rough patch—with back-to-back series defeats to New Zealand and an underwhelming Champions Trophy campaign. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to make key decisions regarding coaching and team structure once the ongoing PSL concludes.
