April 28, 2025: After Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) triumphed over Delhi Capitals in a thrilling IPL 2025 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar shared a light-hearted and hilarious moment in the dressing room that had their teammates in stitches.
RCB’s victory was set up by a brilliant bowling display, followed by a strong partnership between Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli, which guided the team to chase down a target of 163. However, the match didn’t start off smoothly for RCB, who were reeling at 26-3 after early wickets, including captain Rajat Patidar’s unfortunate run-out for just six. Patidar’s dismissal, thanks to a sensational direct throw from Karun Nair, didn’t sit well with the skipper, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the team.

After the match, RCB coach Andy Flower asked Jitesh Sharma to say a few words in the dressing room. As Jitesh went over the contributions of each player, he cheekily said, “Rajat — nothing,” referring to Patidar’s minimal contribution with the bat. This sparked an immediate wave of laughter in the room, with teammates finding Jitesh’s witty remark hilarious.
The banter continued as a clip later surfaced showing Patidar teasing Jitesh about his comment. “Nothing bol raha hai (he’s saying I did nothing),” Patidar said, to which Jitesh quickly shot back, “Batting mein kya ukhaada isne (what did he pull off in batting)?”
In a playful response, Patidar pointed to the logo of the smartphone brand “Nothing,” a commercial partner of RCB in IPL 2025, on the leg of his pants and quipped, “Were you talking about this? It’s okay because we won the match today.” Patidar then smiled and added, “Our rapport is just like that,” making it clear that this was all in good humor between teammates.
While Patidar didn’t get much going with the bat, and Jitesh didn’t get a chance to bat, RCB’s victory was largely built on the strong partnership between Kohli and Krunal, who shared a crucial 119-run stand. Along with contributions from Jacob Bethell, who hit a stunning six off Mitchell Starc on IPL debut, and Tim David’s explosive lower-order finishing, RCB powered to a comfortable win.
In the dressing room, Jitesh also praised Bethell’s remarkable shot and credited Tim David for his match-winning knock. “That shot by Bethell was the shot of the day,” Jitesh said, acknowledging the young debutant’s brilliance. He also highlighted David’s calm and composed approach under pressure, helping RCB secure their top spot in the IPL 2025 points table.
RCB’s next match will see them take on their fierce rivals, Chennai Super Kings, at home, and they will be hoping to continue their strong start to the season as they aim for a top-two finish. Despite the friendly banter, it’s clear that the RCB squad’s camaraderie and chemistry, both on and off the field, are key factors in their success so far this season.
