Jemimah, Deepti Sharma among ICC Player of the Month nominees for December 2023

The ICC announced on Monday that Jemimah Rodrigues, a star bowler from India, and Deepti Sharma, an all-rounder, are among the stars up for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award for December 2023. The ICC said in a statement that two Indian players and a 41-year-old Zimbabwean player have been named for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award for December 2023. Jemimah Rodrigues had a great month where she did well in all forms for India. India beat England and Australia in Tests this month, and the right-hander hit fifty scores in both games.

India’s best batter, Rodrigues, showed off his great flexibility in December by batting brilliantly in all types of games. After a slow start to the month in T20Is, he played two great first-innings runs of 70 or more in India’s wins over England and Australia. Rodrigues continued to score runs in the next two ODIs against Australia, getting 82 and 44 in the first two games to end the month. In December, she averaged over 60 in both Tests and ODIs.

Indian experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma was also very important in their December Test and ODI matches. Sharma’s best performance was in the Test win over England, where he hit 67 and 20 with the bat and took nine wickets against England. The next time India played Australia, they won the Test, and she hit the most runs for them. She then talked about her strengths in ODIs, including taking five wickets for 38 runs in the second match, when India came up just short.

Zimbabwe’s veteran bowler Precious Marange had a run of performances in December that made her career. They helped her team win the Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier and move on to the next round. After taking two wickets in their first game against Kenya, they didn’t get any against Botswana. Then Marange stepped up, winning Player of the Match three times in a row. She took three wickets against Tanzania, three against Namibia, and finally five against Uganda in the final to hold them to 79 runs, including a hat trick in the 19th over.
