Pakistan Spinner Noman Ali Out of Australia Test Series
Left-arm spinner Noman Ali’s absence from the Australia series due to acute appendicitis means that Pakistan’s bowling unit’s list of injured players is getting longer and longer. “Acute appendicitis has kept Noman Ali out of the Test series against Australia. Acute appendicitis was diagnosed after Noman Ali’s sudden and severe abdominal pain yesterday, according to an emergency examination and scan that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released. Originally, Noman was brought in to support Abrar Ahmed as a backup spinner. Pakistan’s bowling situation is further complicated by Noman’s departure, given that Abrar is already sidelined due to injury. Sajid Khan was brought in as a replacement, but he couldn’t play in the first Test because of his late arrival in Perth.
“He had a laparoscopic appendectomy this morning on the advice of the surgeon. Following surgery, he is doing well and is stable. Later this afternoon, he will be released,” the statement continued. Right-armer Khurram Shazad reportedly complained of left side pain during his trip to Perth earlier this week. On December 26, the second Test against Australia will begin at the MCG. Aamer Jamal, Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Hasan Ali, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are now part of the fast bowling lineup due to the absence of key fast bowlers like Khurram Shahzad due to a stress fracture, Naseem Shah recovering from an injury, and Haris Rauf opting not to play. Pakistan faces a formidable challenge in the Boxing Day Test as they aim to secure vital points for the ICC World Test Championship in Melbourne. Pakistan lost the first Test against the hosts by a massive margin of 360 runs in Perth.
