April 11, 2025: Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has made a thunderous return to form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. After missing DC’s opening match against Lucknow Super Giants due to personal reasons, the Karnataka-born star has racked up 185 runs in just three outings, showing signs that he has fully regained his mojo.
His standout performance came at none other than his home ground—the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru—where he delivered a match-winning, unbeaten knock against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Chasing a competitive total, Rahul’s composed innings ensured DC walked away with a six-wicket win, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the tournament.
Taking to social media after the match, KL Rahul shared a photo on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, capturing the joy of returning to form and delivering for his side.
His wife, Athiya Shetty, also shared a heartfelt Instagram Story, praising her husband’s performance with a snapshot that quickly went viral among fans.
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rahul revealed how his role as a wicketkeeper helped him assess the pitch conditions better.
“It was a slightly tricky wicket but what helped me was being behind the stumps for 20 overs, watching how the wicket played,” he said.
“The ball sat in the wicket but it was consistent throughout, it was one-paced. I knew what my shots are, wanted to get off to a good start, and then assess it accordingly.”
With his latest innings, KL Rahul has surged into the top 10 run-scorers of IPL 2025 and currently holds the 8th spot on the list. His resurgence is a significant boost for Delhi Capitals, who are flying high this season with four consecutive wins and currently sit second on the points table.
Looking ahead, DC will aim to continue their unbeaten streak as they gear up to face Mumbai Indians on April 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
