Suryakumar Yadav Mocks Report Claiming He’s Leading Mumbai Cricket Coup After Jaiswal’s Exit

After Yashasvi Jaiswal’s shock switch to Goa, reports hinted at internal turmoil in the Mumbai team. Suryakumar Yadav hits back with satire.

Mumbai, April 3:
A day after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stunning move from Mumbai to Goa, a report claiming a “coup” in the Mumbai cricket team allegedly led by Suryakumar Yadav set social media abuzz. The report suggested the senior India batter was influencing others to leave Mumbai’s domestic setup following Jaiswal’s departure — a claim Surya found laughable.

Taking to social media platform X, Suryakumar Yadav dismissed the speculation with biting sarcasm. He posted a screenshot of the viral report and wrote:

“Script writer hai ya journalist? Agar hasna hai toh I will stop watching comedy movies and start reading these articles. Ekdum bakwas.”

His witty takedown quickly gained traction, earning praise from fans and fellow cricketers alike.

📤 Jaiswal’s Sudden Exit Sparks Rumors

On Tuesday, Jaiswal formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association to shift to Goa. The move was approved promptly, marking a surprising turn for the 22-year-old batter who had risen through the Mumbai ranks to secure a national call-up.

He becomes the third player after Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad to leave Mumbai for Goa in recent years.

🏏 Domestic Pressure and Patchy Form

Jaiswal had featured in only one Ranji Trophy game this season — against Jammu & Kashmir in January, alongside Rohit Sharma — where both stars failed to make an impact. Mumbai went on to lose the match, their second-ever loss to J&K in Ranji history.

🔙 The Mumbai Roots That Built Jaiswal

While his career took flight in Mumbai, Jaiswal’s journey from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh to national fame wasn’t easy. He endured financial hardship and slept in tents before being discovered by coach Jwala Singh, who became his mentor and helped shape his future.

❌ No “Coup,” Just Clickbait?

Despite initial media chatter hinting at wider unrest in the Mumbai dressing room, sources close to Suryakumar Yadav denied any such development. The batter’s tongue-in-cheek reaction seems to have shut down those rumors for now.
